To ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the Referendum-2026, Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) Maj Gen Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud has instructed members of the force to uphold the highest level of professionalism and neutrality.

Speaking at an election preparatory meeting held in Gazipur on Saturday, he said that while performing duties at polling centres, Ansar-VDP members must remain as firm as an immovable mountain and collectively resist any form of disorder, irregularities, ballot box snatching, fake voting or political influence.

The force chief said that maximum use of modern technology, including the Election Security App, must be ensured to report any untoward incident instantly so that patrol teams can reach the spot quickly and bring the situation under control. He further said that among the 13 Ansar-VDP members deployed at each polling centre, two will submit real-time reports directly through the Election Security App. Upazila Ansar and VDP officers will act as responders, while a strong observer team-from district commandants to the Ansar-VDP headquarters-will remain on round-the-clock monitoring.

Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud said that considering the ability to perform long hours of duty, only physically fit, trained and smart members have been selected for this year's election responsibilities. Upholding the national flag and the flag of the force, properly carrying out this sacred duty entrusted by the state is the primary responsibility of every member, he added.
