DNCC administrator Azaz removed

The government has removed Mohammad Azaz from his post as administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

According to a gazette issued by the Local Government Division on Monday, Additional Secretary Suraiya Akhter Jahan has been appointed to the post, replacing Azaz.

The gazette states that Suraiya Akhter Jahan, alongside her current post, will exercise the powers and privileges of the DNCC mayor.

However, she will only be entitled to the prescribed duty allowance.
