Jubo Dal leader hacked to death in Khulna

A local Jubo Dal leader was hacked to death over previous enmity in Khulna's Dighalia upazila on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Murad Khan, 45, son of Khan Monsur Ali, a resident of Hajigram village in the upazila. He was a member of Dighalia upazila unit of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal and a businessman by profession.

According to eyewitnesses, Murad was returning to his home in Hajigram from Khulna when a group of youth obstructed him near Mia Para Mosque in Senhati. Sensing danger, he ran into a nearby shop seeking refuge.

However, the armed assailants dragged him out of the shop and hacked him indiscriminately. They fled the scene after he collapsed.

Later, locals rescued Murad and rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Khulna Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the incident and said that operations are underway to arrest the accused.
