At least three Rohingya students were killed after a hillside collapsed onto a madrasa building at a Rohingya refugee camp in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar, on Wednesday, officials said.
The incident occurred around noon when the hill gave way and buried part of the madrasa. Several students were trapped under the debris, prompting an emergency rescue operation.
Ukhiya Fire Service Station Officer Dollar Tripura confirmed the incident, saying firefighters were conducting rescue efforts at the scene.
"Three students have been confirmed dead. We estimate that around 20 students are trapped under the collapsed earth," he said.
Rescue operations were continuing at the time of filing this report, and the number of casualties could rise as emergency responders searched through the debris.
