4 held with arms while preparing for robbery in Khulna

Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested four alleged robbers along with arms and drugs while they were allegedly preparing to commit robbery in Khulna city early Wednesday.

The arrested were identified as Md Ibrahim Sikder, 30, who is accused in seven criminal cases, Md Naim Khan, 28, a resident of Shipyard area, Md Rashed Khandaker, 30, from Muslimpara Bashtola Mor area and Md Arman Sheikh alias Arman Khalifa, 20, a resident of Bosupara area. Arman reportedly has three cases, including narcotics-related charges, against him.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB officials conducted a raid around 1:30 AM in GM Chowdhury Road area near Shipyard under Labanchara Police Station and arrested the group while they were preparing to commit robbery ahead of Eid.

During the drive, police recovered one pistol cartridge, a machete, a knife and 84 pieces of Yaba pills from their possession.

Khulna Metropolitan DB officer-in-charge (OC) Taimur Islam said legal action has been taken against the arrested individuals under Labanchara Police Station.
