Trader fined for cutting soil in Tangail

TANGAILA mobile court conducted by Basail Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Neyamat Ullah fined a businessman Tk 1 lakh for illegally cutting soil in the Kanchanpur Dakkhin Para area of Kanchanpur Union of the upazila on Thursday afternoon.

According to the mobile court sources, the businessman, Abdul Majid, son of late Amir Ali of the village, had been illegally cutting soil from the banks of the Jhenai River in the said area and selling it for some time. At this time, the mobile court fined him in a case filed under Section 4(a)15 of the Balumahal and Soil Management Act 2010 (Amended Act 2023).

AC (Land) Mohammad Neyamat Ullah said, such mobile courts will be operated in the future.
