Bangladesh Embassy in Washington D.C. has confirmed that the process of repatriating the remains of Nahida Sultana Brishty and Jamil Ahmed Limon, two doctoral students tragically killed in Florida, is currently in motion.

According to Press Minister of the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington Golam Mortoza, Brishty’s first funeral prayer is scheduled to be held May 6 at 2PM in Tampa, Florida.

The embassy, in coordination with the Bangladesh Consulate in Miami, is managing the logistics to return her body to Dhaka following the service.

Meanwhile, the remains of Jamil Ahmed Limon are expected to arrive on Monday (May 4).

Mortoza noted that Limon’s body was dispatched from Orlando International Airport via an Emirates flight.

Sahaly Sabrin, the Consul General of Bangladesh in Miami, was present at the airport to oversee the formalities. The flight is scheduled to land in Dhaka at 8:40 AM on Monday.

Both Limon and Brishty, who were pursuing their PhDs at the University of South Florida, had been missing since April 16. Following an intensive search, local police recovered Limon’s body on April 24. On the same day, authorities found partial remains of Brishty in a water body in Florida.
