Rainfall activity across Bangladesh is expected to gradually decrease over the next five days, while both day and night temperatures may rise slightly, according to a 120-hour forecast from Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

A trough of low pressure stretching from West Bengal to the North Bay continues to influence the country’s weather.

For the 24-hour period from 9 AM on Sunday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds and lightning are likely in many areas of Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and at a few places in Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions.

Moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram.

Day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged during this period, while night temperatures may rise slightly.

On Saturday, the highest temperature was recorded at 33.6°C in Patuakhali, while the lowest temperature today was 18.4°C in Sylhet.

From May 4 onward, rain or thundershowers are expected at a few places across all divisions, with occasional moderately heavy rainfall in isolated areas.

Temperatures are likely to show little change initially, before gradually increasing.

By May 7, rainfall is expected to decline further, with only scattered showers forecast across parts of the country, while both day and night temperatures are set to rise slightly.
