Bangladesh has gained international attention at the 13th World Bank Group (WBG) Youth Summit 2026, with two young innovators representing the country at the global platform focused on jobs, innovation and economic transformation.
Emerging changemakers Tisha Khandokar and Md Toufiq Elahi are attending the summit as official delegates, joining youth leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs and development experts from across the world to discuss solutions to employment challenges and inclusive growth.
The two-day summit began at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where World Bank Group President Ajay Banga underscored the importance of creating quality jobs as a pathway to reducing poverty and ensuring sustainable economic development. IFC Managing Director Makhtar Diop also highlighted the need to mobilise private investment to expand employment opportunities, particularly in emerging markets, including South Asia.
