Unpaid former employees of the Drug International on Saturday formed a human chain around 8am in front of Khawaja Enayetpuri Tower along the capital’s Green Road, with aggrieved protesters gathered with banners. They also staged a sit-demonstration in that spot, shouting slogans calling for justice.

More than 500 deprived staff of the medicine company took part at these events, and they sought intervention from the government in realising what they say their logical dues and rights.  They demanded their all unpaid dues and reinstatement of unlawful terminations- or forced resignations.

The ex-employees alleged they were dismissed without proper job compliance under the existing labour laws.
