Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations for the year of 2026 will begin on Thursday, July 2, 2026, across Bangladesh.
The examinations will be held simultaneously at all the halls from 10:00am to 1:00pm, and candidates must enter their respective examination centers at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
A total of 1,267,486 regular and irregular candidates from 11 education boards will sit for the examinations at 2,697 centers nationwide.
Dhaka Education Board has the highest number of candidates, with 300,393 students appearing at 310 centers. Rajshahi Board has 140,830 candidates at 208 centers, while Jashore Board has 117,210 candidates at 240 centers. Dinajpur Board will see 113,479 candidates at 212 centers, Technical Education Board has 107,964 candidates at 610 centers, and Chattogram Board has 99,688 candidates at 114 centers.
Meanwhile, Cumilla Board has 94,802 candidates at 193 centers, Madrasah Education Board has 92,905 candidates at 461 centers, the Mymensingh Board has 73,037 candidates at 111 centers, Sylhet Board has 71,711 candidates at 96 centers, and the Barishal Board has 58,664 candidates at 142 centers.
Education authorities have introduced strict measures to restrict adopting unfair means in the examinations.
Closed Circuit TV surveillance has been made mandatory at all examination centers. Only the officer-in-charge of a center will be allowed to carry a mobile phone or electronic device inside the premises, while candidates are prohibited from bringing any electronic devices except a non-digital wristwatch.
