Schoolgirl shot in Khulna

A class 10 schoolgirl named 'Iti' was shot dead by miscreants wearing helmets on Wapda Bheribandh Road in Khulna's Rupsha Upazila. The incident took place on Friday (July 3) evening.

According to local sources, some miscreants wearing helmets on motorcycles opened fire on her while she was in the Wapda Bheribandh Road area in the evening. She was shot and collapsed on the spot.

Later, local people rescued her and rushed her to the hospital. However, details about her physical condition were not immediately known. Apart from this, the reason for the attack and the identity of the attackers have not yet been confirmed.

Upon receiving the information, law enforcement officials reached the spot, collected evidence and started an investigation to uncover the cause of the incident.

Khulna Police Station SI Abdus Sattar said, "The injured man was standing in front of his house. At that time, three miscreants on a motorcycle shot at him. The bullet hit his leg. The miscreants left the scene immediately after the incident. Police are conducting a drive to arrest those involved in the incident."

The incident has created a sensation in the area.
