Family’s role key to children’s intellectual dev: Tangail DC

MADHUPUR, TANGAIL, July 24: “Today's children are the future of tomorrow. To make the next generation a good citizen, every child's first school is their family. Therefore, the role of the family in the development of children's talent is indispensable,” said Tangail Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sharifa Haque as the chief guest at the Shishu Mela programme organised by Sholakuri Government Primary School in Madhupur Upazila of the district on Thursday.

Seventeen students who received scholarships were felicitated at the programme organised on Sholakuri Government Primary School grounds.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Saiful Islam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Naeem Uddin, former head teacher of Sholakuri Primary School Keramat Ali and Head Teacher of Sholakuri High School Mokaddes Ali were present as special guests.

Upazila Primary Education Officer Muhammad Shafiqul Islam Khan chaired the programme and Head Teacher of Sholakuri Primary School Tahmina Mallick conducted the event.

Tahmina Mallick said that the event was organised to develop children's creativity and promote education in a joyful environment. Parents, students, teachers and local dignitaries participated in the event.
