Steve Koehler, US Pacific Fleet Commander, will arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday (August 4) for a 3-day official visit.
As reported by the US Embassy in Dhaka, Admiral Koehler is scheduled to meet senior Bangladeshi officials to discuss the long-standing defense partnership between US and Bangladesh during the meeting.
Furthermore, cooperation in maritime security, disaster responses, humanitarian assistance, and professional military education are to be discussed in the meeting, embassy added.
Earlier, US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Ambassador Sergio Gor came to Dhaka on a three-day official visit to convey Washington’s commitment to deepen strategic and economic ties with Bangladesh, and continue his support to resolve the Rohingya crisis.
