100 tonnes of Indian chilies enter country through Bhomra after 9-month

On Monday, the first consignment of around 100 metric tonnes of green chilies arrived in the country on 10 trucks. Importers and wholesale traders expressed relief as the import operations restarted after a prolonged suspension.

Abu Musa, General Secretary of the Bhomra C&F Agents Association, said the Indian green chilies reached the port on Monday. Following the completion of customs and clearance formalities, the consignments will be dispatched to wholesale markets across the country without delay.

According to importers, each truck carried between nine and eleven metric tonnes of green chilies.
