Four land officials sacked in Gazipur

Four officials and employees of the Kashimpur Land Office in Gazipur were temporarily suspended after a sudden inspection by the district administration reveal preliminary evidence of wrongdoing and corruption.

Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Md. Nurul Karim Bhuiyan made a sudden inspection of the Kashimpur Land Office, On Monday (August 3) around 11:00 where he found preliminary evidence supporting the allegations of discrepancies.

According to sources , the Deputy Commissioner spoke with both land office officials and members of the public seeking services. Several service recipients alleged about irregularities, including alleged bribery and illegal payments related to land tax clearance and mutation applications. A preliminary inquiry found evidence supporting these complaints.

Following the investigation, the Deputy Commissioner temporarily suspended four staff members they are Wazed Ali Khan, Acting Union Assistant Land Officer , Mostafa Kamal, Office Assistant, Shafiqul Islam Khan and Abdul Halim.

After leaving the Kashimpur Land Office, the Deputy Commissioner proceeded to inspect the Safipur Land Office in Kaliakair Upazila, along with other land offices in Gazipur.
