Three seriously injured in separate road accidents in Paikgachha

Three people, including a journalist, were seriously injured in two separate road accidents in Paikgachha upazila of Khulna on Saturday.
The accidents occurred in the Charabottola area of Paikgachha municipality at noon and in Deluti Bazar area in the afternoon. The injured were identified as motorcyclist Md Naim Islam, 17, van driver Rezaul Molla, 55, and journalist Abdul Aziz.
The first accident occurred around noon on the main road near Gopalpur-Bandikati Jame Mosque in the Charabottola area. According to local sources, a speeding motorcycle collided head-on with a van, leaving Naim Islam, son of Babul Dafadar of Gopalpur village in Paikgachha, and van driver Rezaul Molla, son of Abu Taleb Molla of Kalyanpur village in Ashashuni upazila of Satkhira, seriously injured.
Locals rescued the two and took them to Paikgachha Upazila Health Complex, where emergency department physician Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed provided initial treatment. He said both patients were in serious condition. As Naim's condition deteriorated, he was referred to Khulna Medical College Hospital. Later, after Rezaul's relatives arrived at the hospital, he was also referred to Khulna for advanced treatment.
In a separate incident that afternoon, journalist Abdul Aziz was seriously injured when his motorcycle skidded and fell on the road in the Deluti Bazar area. He was returning to Paikgachha municipal town after completing his professional assignment when the accident occurred.
Two colleagues accompanying Aziz rescued him and took him to Dibya Diagnostic Centre and Raj Hospital in the municipal area. Dr Sanjoy Kumar, the attending physician, examined him and said Aziz had sustained a serious fracture in his right leg. He was later referred to Khulna for advanced treatment after receiving initial medical care.
The two separate accidents on the same day, leaving three people seriously injured, have raised concern among local residents. Fellow journalists visited Aziz at the hospital after learning about the accident and inquired about his condition.
