Tea seller’s son scores GPA-5 while helping father at shop

While helping his father at a roadside tea stall and continuing his studies amid financial hardship, Jubayed Hossain Pranto has achieved a GPA-5 in the SSC and equivalent examinations from the technical education stream.
Pranto is a student of the technical section of Bhadra Ghat Shamsun Mohsin High School in Kamarkhand upazila of Sirajganj. His father, Md Abdul Hai Sheikh, has been running a tea stall beside the Sirajganj-Bogura highway in the Bhadra Ghat Bazar area for around 16 years. The school is located just across the highway from the tea stall.
Despite financial difficulties, Pranto remained attentive to his studies. Alongside regularly attending school and studying, he would help his father at the tea stall whenever he had the opportunity. His teachers also supported him in various ways throughout his education.
Abdul Hai Sheikh said he was extremely happy with his son’s result. “No one is happier than me today. My son has achieved GPA-5. He studied regularly and did not waste time in bad company. He also attended school regularly,” he said.
Asked what he wanted his son to become in the future, Abdul Hai said, “I want my son to become a good human being. That is my dream.”
Pranto said he wants to pursue studies at a polytechnic institute and become a diploma engineer. “Whenever I had the opportunity, I helped my father at his tea stall. I want to complete my studies and become a diploma engineer,” he said.
Md Yamin Hossain, an assistant teacher at Bhadra Ghat Shamsun Mohsin High School, said the school was also proud of Pranto’s achievement. He said Pranto and his father came to the school with sweets after the results were published, bringing joy to the teachers.
Pranto’s achievement, coming from a family that depends on a roadside tea stall for its livelihood, has brought pride to his family and school. He now hopes to continue his education and become a diploma engineer, fulfilling his ambition of bringing greater happiness to his family.
