Holy Cross College in the capital has instructed married students not to apply for admission to Class XI. It has also said that if any student gets married while studying at the college, their admission will be cancelled and they will be issued a Transfer Certificate (TC).

The conditions were mentioned in the college’s admission notice for the 2026-27 academic year. The notice states that married students do not need to apply. It also says that if any student gets married during the academic year, they will be issued a TC.

The admission notice states, “Married students need not apply. If anyone gets married during the session, they will be issued a TC.” Regular and practical class attendance, wearing the college-prescribed uniform, physical exercise and participation in extracurricular activities have also been made mandatory. Bringing or using mobile phones on campus is strictly prohibited. Students who have objections to these rules have also been advised not to apply.

With approval from the Dhaka Education Board, the college will admit students through its own admission process this year. Students will be selected based on their SSC results and the results of a written selection test.

Applicants to the science group must have a GPA of 5.00 in the SSC examination and must have Higher Mathematics and Biology as subjects. For the business studies group, applicants must have an SSC GPA between 4.00 and 5.00, while applicants to the humanities group must have a GPA between 3.00 and 5.00.

Specific eligibility criteria have also been set for changing groups. Students from the science and business studies groups who have a GPA of 4.00 or above will be eligible to apply for the humanities group. Students from the science group with a GPA of 4.25 or above will be eligible to apply for the business studies group.

Online applications can be submitted from September 2 until midnight on September 5. Applicants will have to pay an application fee of Tk 500. They will subsequently have to sit for a written selection test.

The selection test for the humanities and business studies groups will be held on September 10. The science group test will be held the following day, September 11. The final results will be published after 1pm on September 15.

The college has 780 seats in the science group, 280 in business studies and 270 in humanities. Selected students must confirm their admission by paying the admission fee online between 5pm on September 15 and noon on September 17. Failure to pay the fee within the stipulated time will result in cancellation of the admission opportunity.

Detailed admission information will be published on the college’s website and Facebook page.
