Robert Downey Jr celebrates 21 years of marriage with Susan Downey

Hollywood star Robert Downey Jr has celebrated 21 years of marriage with his wife, film producer Susan Downey, marking the milestone with a heartfelt tribute on social media.

Downey Jr took to Instagram to share two images, including a playing-card image featuring an ace and a queen, and reflected on their journey together. He affectionately described Susan as his “lioness” and “SuperBuddy”, while referring to himself as her “adult cub”. He also expressed gratitude for being guided alongside her on what he described as a path of “righteous humility.”

The couple first met while working on the 2003 psychological thriller 'Gothika', which Susan produced and in which Downey Jr starred. They began dating that year and became engaged in November 2003. They married on August 27, 2005, in Amagansett, New York.

Over the past two decades, the couple have built both a family and a professional partnership. They have two children together, son Exton Elias and daughter Avri Roel, while Susan is also stepmother to Downey Jr’s eldest son, Indio, from his previous marriage. The pair have also worked together on several film projects.
