
GOPALGANJ, Aug 28: The two-day ‘Interdisciplinary Summit-2026’ began on Friday, at Gopalganj Science and Technology University (GSTU), with participation from teachers and students of more than 40 universities across the country. A total of 66 selected research papers are being presented across seven thematic sessions.
Under the theme “Convergence of Ideas for Global Impact,” the GSTU Global Affairs Council has organised the gathering of researchers for the first time.
GSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Sohel Hasan was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “There are no boundaries to knowledge. We constantly go through new experiences and learn something new every day. For this reason, this initiative is extremely important for the university.”
Dr Niaz Al Hasan, assistant professor of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Bioscience and convener of the conference organising committee, said that students will present and discuss their research papers in seven thematic sessions during the conference.
Three sessions will be held on the first day and four on the second day. A total of 66 research papers have been selected for presentation, which will later be published in magazine format.
Renowned faculty members from the University of Rajshahi, Jahangirnagar University, Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, and GSTU are serving in various capacities during the different sessions of the conference.
