Four people were fined Tk 35,000 during a Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) mobile court operation in Munsurabad on Wednesday for conditions that could contribute to dengue transmission.
The drive was led by CCC Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarbavidya.
During the operation, officials found stagnant water containing potential breeding grounds for Aedes mosquito larvae in tyres piled on roads and rooftops of several establishments.
They also found shops occupying roads and footpaths with goods, obstructing public movement.
The mobile court filed cases against the four people and collected Tk 35,000 in fines.
The CCC also conducted awareness campaigns among local residents as part of its dengue prevention and mosquito-control efforts.
The city corporation said such drives will continue to protect the environment and control dengue.
