Three found dead in three districts

Three persons were found dead in separate incidents in Narayanganj, Pabna and Barishal districts in two days.
NARAYANGANJ: Police have recovered the body of a trader from inside a sack in a ditch behind a godown of the closed Jalalabad Pharmaceutical Company in Sonargaon Upazila of the district on Wednesday noon.

According to sources, Ayub Ali, son of Altaf Hossain of Kanchpur Uttarpara area of the upazila and a scrap object trader, went out of home on Monday last and went missing. Later, local people saw the sack in the said area around 11 am and informed the police. Police recovered the body tied in hands and legs and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy. 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonargaon Police Station (PS) Abdul Barik confirmed the incident.

PABNA: The body of 10-year-old Kamrunnahar Koli was recovered on Wednesday morning from a sack in a ditch near her home in Pabna Sadar Upazila, seven days after she went missing.

Koli, daughter of Kamal Pramanik of Kulonia Village in Dogachhi Union, had gone with her father to Sreepur Bazar on the evening of September 9. After returning home, she handed a shopping bag to her mother and went outside. When she failed to return, her family searched for her and found her sandals about 200 yards from the house. Her father later filed a GD with Pabna Sadar Police Station.

However, relatives and classmates held a protest procession and human chain in Pabna town on Tuesday.

Pabna Sadar PS OC Tarikul Islam said police were investigating the cause of death and those responsible. The body was sent to Pabna General Hospital for an autopsy.

BARISHAL: A 55-year-old man was found dead at his rented home in Baghia Ichakathi Colony in the city early Tuesday.

Mohammad Nuruzzaman Howlader, an assistant to a lawyer at the Barishal District and Sessions Judge’s Court, appeared to have been struck on the back of the head with a heavy object, police said.

His wife, Nasima Begum, has been missing since the incident, and investigators suspect she may be involved in the killing. The couple were the only people at home on Monday night, police said.

Police responding to a 999 emergency call found Nuruzzaman’s blood-stained body on a bed. His body was sent for an autopsy.

CCTV footage showed Nasima leaving the house twice late on Monday with a bag, police and the landlord said. She later gave it to a niece. Police said it contained Nuruzzaman’s mobile phone, house keys and other items. Police are searching for Nasima and investigating possible personal motives.
