29 JnU students nominated for PM's gold medal

A total of 29 students from Jagannath University (JnU) have been initially nominated for the Prime Minister’s Gold Medal for the years 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Seven students have been nominated for each of the 2022, 2023 and 2024 awards, while eight students have been nominated for 2025.

The information was disclosed in a notice signed by JnU Acting Registrar Professor Dr Md Sheikh Gias Uddin on Sunday (September 27).

According to the notice, the initially nominated students must submit the required documents by October 1 during office hours. They have been instructed to complete the Prime Minister’s Gold Medal nomination form available on the University Grants Commission (UGC) website or the form attached to the notice and submit two hard copies.

The students must also submit a signed declaration, two recently taken passport-size photographs, certificates and mark sheets of all educational qualifications, transcripts or grade sheets, and a copy of their national identification cards.

All documents must be properly attested and submitted to the university registrar’s office through the director of the relevant institute or the chairman of the respective department. The required documents must also be sent in PDF format to the designated email address.

The seven nominees for 2022 are Saddam Hossain, Rumana Siddika Marufa, Ayesha Akter, Rokeya Parvin, Md Billal Hossain, Jannatul Ferdous Proma and Mujtaniba Jahan Mashraka.

The nominees for 2023 are Md Anwar Shah, Sharmin Akter, Sadia Jannat Mitu, Joy Pal, Mosa. Shumona Akter, Tanzum Ahmed Nadi and Tasnima Akter.

The seven nominees for 2024 are Ariful Islam, Asma Akter, Muhammad Golam Rohman Shafi, Sadia Khanam, Ragib Shahriar Rafi, Jannatun Naher Urmi and Md Muhib Ahsan Chowdhury.

The eight nominees for 2025 are Somaiya Tabassum, Faria Akter Eva, Shanzida Sarmin Mouri, Dipanbita Baidya, Anika Tabassum Antara, Abha Rahman, Bidisha Adhikari and Mosa. Faria Yasmin.

According to the UGC’s Prime Minister’s Gold Medal application guidelines, the application process consists of three stages: Student Information, Academic Performance and Attachments, and Review and Final Submission. 

Applicants may save their applications as drafts and complete the process later.
