ACC summons Tarique Siddique over third terminal case

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned former military adviser Tarique Ahmed Siddique for questioning in a case over the alleged embezzlement of Tk 250 crore from the third terminal expansion project at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

He has been asked to appear at the ACC headquarters at 10:00 AM on October 7, according to an ACC notice issued on Tuesday.

The notice was issued under Section 19 of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004 and Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to record his statement.

The ACC filed the case against 10 people on January 27, 2025. It alleges that the accused, in collusion, embezzled Tk 250 crore from the project. The commission had earlier filed four cases against 19 people over alleged embezzlement of Tk 812 crore from four airport development projects.

Tarique Siddique could not be found at his address when the notice was served. It was later hung at the premises in the presence of a security guard, an ACC official said.
