2 Ansarmen held in Manikganj over allegedly violating woman in hospital

Police arrested two members of Bangladesh Ansar for allegedly violating a woman inside Manikganj General Hospital on Monday morning.

The arrested were identified as Shahadat Hossain and Abu Sayed.

According to police, the incident took place around 3:00 AM when the victim, a housewife, and her husband took shelter at the hospital after their battery-powered van ran out of charge.

The two Ansar personnel, who were on duty at the hospital at the time, allegedly took the woman to another floor, leaving her husband behind and violated her.

Later, the victim informed her husband about the incident, following which the couple lodged a complaint with Manikganj Sadar Police Station.

Later in the morning, police arrested the two accused based on their complaint.

Manikganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Sarwar Alam confirmed the incident and said that the victim has been admitted to Manikganj General Hospital for medical examination and treatment.

Further legal procedures are underway, added the SP.
