On Saturday, at 12:30 am, locals recovered their bodies from the lake and took them to the emergency department of the 100-bed Narayanganj General Hospital, where the doctor on-duty declared them dead.

The deceased were the sons of Shah Alam, a rickshaw puller from Dattakandi Village in Sirajganj District, and a tenant at the house of Almas Miah of Khil Market area in Kashipur.

The family sources said that in the afternoon, the two brothers left their house saying they were going to a fair in front of the lake and did not return.
