Four girls went missing simultaneously after leaving their homes for school at Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali district.
The incident has led to filing a General Diary (GD) with Bauphal Police Station.
According to the GD and family sources, Sanjida Akter, 12, left her home at Nazirpur area around 9:30 AM on May 10, purportedly for school. When she didn’t return after classes ended, her family began a frantic search and came to know that three other local students, Ayesha Akter, 13, Ismat Jerin Sajnin, 12 and Sanjida Akter Raisa, 14, had also disappeared during the same timeframe.
Three of the missing girls are students at Nazirpur Chhoto Dalima Secondary School, while the fourth attends a local madrasa.
Ali Hossain, father of one of the missing girls, claimed that an unidentified individual reportedly purchased bus tickets for them to Dhaka from Boga area.
He further alleged that a woman was seen accompanying the group, leading families to fear that the students may have been abducted.
Bauphal Police Station officer-in-charge Sirajul Islam confirmed that police are investigating the matter and conducting drives to locate and rescue the four missing students.
