PIROJPUR, May 21: A press briefing was jointly organised by the district administration and the district information office on Wednesday noon in the Deputy Commissioner (DC)'s conference room in the town.

Speakers discussed the output and achievements of the present government in the last three months.

The government's Family Card programme is being implemented in the district within 21 days after taking state power, which is a rare example. One crore and 25 lakh families will come out of the poverty level within five years through the Family Card.

The Farmers Card is one of the remarkable examples across the world. Farmers will get ten agro services through the card. The Farmers Card distribution programme has been launched in the district at Nesarabad Upazila and will gradually expand to every upazila.

Tree plantation has begun in the district targeting to achieve the goals. Different departments, non-government and private sectors are working on this important issue.

Twelve canals are being excavated across the district, ensuring natural irrigation for agriculture, fish cultivation and duck rearing. Priority-based programmes are being undertaken to implement them.

DC Aby Sayed attended the event as the chief guest, while Additional DC (General) Md. Alauddin Bhuyian Jony was present as the special guest. Deputy Director (DD) of the Information and Broadcasting Directorate, Porikhith Chowdhury, presided over the briefing session. Assistant Director (AD) Saifuddin Al Madani conducted the session.
