Chattogram youth shot dead while taking Yaba

A 25-year-old man was shot dead while taking Yaba pills at an abandoned house in Chattogram on Wednesday afternoon.

Deceased Azad was the son of Md. Rashid, a resident of Hakim Shah Huzurer Bari in Hamzarbagh area of Panchlaish police station. He was working as a laborer in an aluminum factory.

The incident took place at around 4:00pm in Muradpur Forest Gate area under Panchlaish police station in the city while Azad and three friends were taking Yaba pills.

Confirming matter, Panchlaish Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Jahedul Islam said that a friend of Azad, named Ishhaq alis Isha, took him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital after the victim was shot where doctors declared him dead. 

When initially questioned, Isha said that three of them, including Azad, were consuming Yaba sitting in the abandoned house. At that time, someone shot Azad.

The OC said, “The deceased had bullet wounds on the right side of his chest. We have visited the scene with Azad’s friend. The information received from him will be verified and further legal action will be taken in this regard.”
