Fish trader killed in Natore road crash

A collision between a truck and a pickup van left a fish trader dead in Singra upazila of Natore. 

The incident took place in the Khejurtala area on the Natore-Bogura highway on Sunday, August 2. 

The deceased was identified as Afzal Hossain, 28. He was the son of the late Abul Hossain of Kathalbaria area in Natore Sadar upazila. 

Another fish trader Al-Amin, 19 was injured during the accident and is undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. He is the son of Fayez Mia of Rish Naogaon village in the same district. 

Singra Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said a fish-laden pickup van was heading toward the Singra fish market early Sunday.

On the way, while passing through the Khejurtala area, it rammed into the rear of an unidentified truck and got crumpled. Two fish traders inside the pickup were critically injured at that time.

Upon receiving the information, Singra Police and Highway Police quickly reached the spot, rescued the injured, and took them to Natore Modern Sadar Hospital.

Later, around 5:30AM, the on-duty doctor declared fish trader Afzal Hossain dead.
