An expatriate from Bangladesh have been allegedly assaulted and hacked in Gazaria, Munshiganj after a campaign against the drug trade in the area.
This incident occurred on Tuesday night (August 11) in the College Road area of Bhoberchar union. Expatriate Solaiman Khan, claimed that he was attacked by 8-10 people using sharp objects.
According to Solaiman Khan, he had previously warned the drug traffickers and consumers through miking and Facebook live. He had been attacked when going out to drink some water.
Brother of the victim, Rakib Khan, said his brother had been receiving threats for speaking out against the drug dealings and he requested the arrest of the assailants.
Accused Manik Member denied all claims and said he was not involved in this case.
Sabbir Hossain, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gazaria Police, reported that a complaint has been filed, and legal steps will be taken against the guilty after the investigation.
