Two arrested for alleged drug use in Char Fasson

Police have arrested two men for allegedly consuming drugs in Char Fasson upazila of Bhola. The detainees were identified as Md Rubel Farazi, 28, son of Rafiqul Islam Farazi, and Md Hridoy Munsi, 20, son of Faruk Munsi.

According to police, a team from Shashibhushan Police Station conducted a special operation based on a tip-off at around 9:45am on July 14 at Bottola on the paved road in Ward No. 2 of Rasulpur Union. Police said they found the two men allegedly consuming yaba and arrested them when they tried to flee. No drugs were recovered from their possession at the time of arrest, according to the report.

The two men were later taken to Char Fasson Upazila Health Complex for examination. Police said a drug test subsequently detected the presence of amphetamine in samples from both suspects. They were later sent to court under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, police said.

Officer-in-Charge of Shashibhushan Police Station Md Firoz Ahmed confirmed the arrests and said the two suspects had been sent to the court. He added that police operations against drug-related activities would continue in the public interest.
