Three more people died of dengue in the past 24 hours, raising the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 85 this year. During the same period, 994 new patients were hospitalised with dengue.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in a press release issued on Monday. It said that two deaths occurred between 8am Sunday and 8am Monday. During this period, 994 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals, taking the total number of dengue patients hospitalised this year to 29,923. A total of 27,758 patients have been discharged so far, including 862 in the last 24 hours.
An analysis of division-wise data showed that Khulna division recorded the highest number of new admissions, with 215 patients, in the past 24 hours.
