Fire destroys 23 homes, 5 shops in Kaliakair

A fire in Gazipur’s Kaliakair early Thursday, burned down 23 homes and five shops in two colonies.

The fire broke out at a colony in the Harinhati area around 2am and later spread to a nearby colony.

Two Fire Service units brought the fire under control after around one and a half hours.

A short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire.
