Police arrest 3 over attack on Salman Muqtadir's studio, case filed

Content creator Salman Muqtadir filed a case with Cantonment Police Station on Sunday morning following a violent attack, vandalism, and looting at his studio and adjacent property in the capital's ECB Chattar area.
Armed miscreants raided the New Guinea Housing Project premises—where Salman's studio 'Brown Fish' is located—at around 10:00 PM on Saturday.
Police detained suspects and seized domestic weapons from the scene following the incident. Cantonment Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Gias Uddin and DMP Assistant Commissioner (Cantonment Zone) Nazmul Haque confirmed that legal action is underway.
Law enforcement officials stated that the violence stemmed from a long-standing land dispute between two rival groups over access to adjacent properties, which caught Salman's studio in the crossfire.
According to housing project authorities, over 100 attackers arrived in four mini-trucks, fired shots, assaulted several people, and destroyed CCTV cameras. Project officials alleged that miscreants looted around Tk 1 crore in cash alongside equipment worth crores of Taka.
Salman reported severe financial and operational losses, stating that critical client footage and production equipment were taken. He claimed the attackers were involved in extortion, though police maintained the primary motive was property conflict.
Despite the heavy damage, Salman assured his staff he would continue operations, expressing his determination to rebuild and pursue his creative projects.
