EU ambassador meets IGP

European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller led a three-member delegation in a courtesy meeting with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Hossain Fakir at Police Headquarters on Tuesday.

The delegation praised the Bangladesh Police for its professionalism and commitment to maintaining law and order in the country after August 5.

The meeting discussed strengthening cooperation between the Bangladesh Police and the EU, including institutional capacity building, technology-based policing, investigation and forensic capabilities, cybercrime prevention, information sharing and legal cooperation.

The two sides also discussed countering terrorism and human trafficking, victim protection and gender-sensitive policing.

They emphasised technical assistance, expert exchanges, training, technology transfer and institutional advice to further strengthen the Bangladesh Police and expand future cooperation.
