AMTALI, BARGUNA, Feb 2: For the upcoming 13th national election, the administration has declared 68 polling stations across various categories as risky within the Barguna-1 (Amtali-Taltali-Barguna Sadar) constituency's 185 centres.
This includes 18 out of 65 centres in Amtali Upazila, 17 out of 30 centres in Taltali Upazila, and 33 out of 95 centres in Barguna Sadar Upazila.
Conscious citizens have stated that additional security measures must be in place at these risky centres to ensure fair voting.
Barguna's Police Superintendent Md. Kudrat-e-Khuda said, over the phone that all necessary security measures will be taken for the risky centres. Under no circumstances will security be compromised at these centres.
It is noted that the Barguna-1 constituency comprises Amtali, Taltali, and Barguna Sadar Upazilas. The total number of voters in this constituency is 519,460. This includes 259,098 male voters and 260,351 female voters. Additionally, there are 11 third-gender voters.
Four candidates are contesting in this seat. Among them, Md. Nazrul Islam Molla is participating with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Md. Oli Ullah is in the electoral race with the Hand Fan symbol from Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB).
Furthermore, Md. Jahangir Hossain from Khelafat Majlis is contesting with the Wall Clock symbol. Md. Jamal Hossain from National Party-JP is participating with the Bicycle symbol.
