3 senior army officials appointed as ambassadors

The government has assigned three senior Bangladesh Army officers to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on deputation, paving the way for their appointment as ambassadors.

Separate notifications issued on Wednesday by the Ministry of Public Administration confirming that the officers’ services have been placed under the Foreign Ministry.

The officers are-- Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hasan, former Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division; Major General Md Jahangir Alam, former Director General of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence; and Major General Md Nasim Parvez, former Commandant of the Military Institute of Science and Technology.

However, no official announcement has yet been made regarding their specific diplomatic postings.
