Policeman held with huge Yaba pills in Ctg

Police official arrested a policeman while snuggling a huge amount of Yaba pills from Shah Amanat Bridge area of Baklia police station in Chittagong city early Tuesday.

The arrested was identified as Ashiqul Islam, 30, a resident of Gobindapur area under Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj district. He was a police constable by profession, currently posted in Khulna.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of policemen took position in front of a police box adjacent to the Shah Amanat Bridge and arrested Ashiqul around 5:30 AM.

During initial search, policemen recovered 50,000 pieces of Yaba pills from his possession.

Baklia police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Solaiman confirmed the detention and said that a case has been filed against the arrested under the Narcotics Control Act.
