Naogaon Club gets new body

NAOGAON, July 27: In the Naogaon District Press Club Executive Committee Election-2026, Independent TV Representative and BD News Correspondent Sadequl Islam has been elected as president and SM Azad Hossain Murad, editor of the Daily Prothom Sangbad, general secretary.

As there were no candidates contesting the 15 posts of the Executive Committee, the Convener of the Election Steering Committee and valiant freedom fighter Professor Md Waliul Islam declared the candidates contesting the 15 posts, including president and general secretary, elected unopposed on Saturday evening.

According to the announced schedule, the election of the Executive Committee of the Naogaon District Press Club is scheduled to be held on August 1. Saturday was the last day for the withdrawal of candidatures for this election. Since no candidate withdrew their candidature on the last day for the withdrawal of candidatures, the Election Commission announced the final list of candidates. 

Senior journalist Nabir Uddin and lawyer Shahid Hasan Siddiqui Swapan of the Naogaon District Press Club served as the election management committee members.

Those elected to other positions are Daily Borendro Kontho Editor and Bangla Vision Representative Belayet Hossain and Daily Shamaj Shangbad Correspondent Sultanul Alam Milon as vice-presidents, Daily Prothom Alo Correspondent Omar Faruk as joint secretary, Desh TV Representative and Daily Samakal Correspondent Kazi Kamal Hossain, Nagorik TV Representative and Daily Ajker Patrika Correspondent Sumon Ali as treasurer, Daily Mukta Khabar Correspondent Masud Rana as office secretary, Daily Sangbad Konika Correspondent Shamim Ansari as publicity secretary, and executive members ATN Bangla Representative ASM Raihan Alam as, MyTV Representative Abu Bakar Siddique, Bijoy TV Representative Mofazzal Hossain, Daily Kalbela Correspondent Bikash Chandra Pal, Daily Ajker Jonobani's Abdus Salam and Daily Desh Barta's Subir Kumar Das.
