Water Resources Minister and BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anni has said that the government needs to be given time and should be supported in its efforts to develop the country. “There is no need for protests or rallies at this time,” he said.
He made the remarks on Friday evening while speaking as the chief guest at an awareness program on inclusive education, skills development, social employment and hearing impairment. The event was organized by “Abhedya,” a social and voluntary organization, at the Lakshmipur Town Hall auditorium.
The program was chaired by Abhedya President Tanzimuzzaman Tishan. Among those present were Lakshmipur District Council Administrator Shahabuddin Sabu, former president of SANAK Lakshmipur Professor ZM Faruqi, assistant teacher at Lakshmipur Government Girls’ High School Abul Kalam, district Chhatra Dal convener Abul Barakat Sourav, general secretary Hasibur Rahman Abhi, and people from various professions and sections of society.
He further said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been working for the country’s development and on various humanitarian and social initiatives. He urged people to support the government under Tarique Rahman’s leadership in the interest of the country’s development.
