BGB seizes Indian drugs worth Tk 17.42 lakh in Daulatpur border.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered Indian drugs worth Tk 17.42 lakh in two separate operations along the Daulatpur border.

As part of its continued efforts to prevent drug smuggling and other forms of cross-border trafficking, Kushtia Battalion (47 BGB) conducted the operations and recovered the drugs.

Acting on a tip-off, a BGB patrol team under Kajipur Border Outpost (BOP) conducted an operation at Sheoratala Math in its area of responsibility.

The team recovered six bottles of Indian liquor, 750 dexamethasone tablets and 3,000 cyproheptadine tablets. The drugs were found abandoned.

The estimated seizure value of the recovered drugs was Tk 11.34 lakh.

Meanwhile, a BGB patrol team under Charchilmari BOP conducted another operation at Digirchar in its area of responsibility around noon on Tuesday, September 15.

During the operation, the team recovered 16 bottles of Indian Fairdil syrup, four bottles of Scaf, 1,500 dexamethasone tablets and 500 cyproheptadine tablets.

The drugs were found abandoned. Their estimated seizure value was Tk 6.08 lakh.

The two separate operations resulted in the recovery of Indian drugs worth a total of Tk 17.42 lakh.

Kushtia Battalion (47 BGB) has been strengthening intelligence activities, conducting regular patrols and carrying out special operations along the border to prevent drug smuggling and other forms of trafficking.

The BGB will continue such operations to ensure border security, create a drug- and smuggling-free environment and protect the country’s youth from the harmful effects of drugs.
