Unidentified woman’s body recovered from Jhenaidah pond

Police recovered the body of an unidentified young woman from a pond at a brickfield in Jhenaidah’s Kotchandpur upazila on Thursday morning.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be known, aged nearly 25 years.

According to police sources, locals found the body floating in a reservoir at Eco Bricks around 10:00 AM, located beside the Kotchandpur-Kaliganj road near the municipal college area and informed police.

Being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Jhenaidah General Hospital morgue for an autopsy

Kotchandpur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Asaduzzaman confirmed the death and said that an investigation is underway to determine the identity of the woman as well as the exact cause of her death.
