Worker dies after entangled with factory machine

A worker was killed after getting entangled with a running machine belt while working at an oil mill in Magura town on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Sobhan Hossain, 25, son of Shahor Ali, a resident of Doarpara area in the town.

According to locals, the incident occurred at an oil mill in the Notun Bazar area when Sobhan attempted to fix a moving machine belt and accidentally got entangled, leaving him critically injured. ]

Later, co-workers rescued him and rushed him to Magura General Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Locals said the family has been left devastated as he was the sole earning member.

Hospital’s emergency medical officer Dr Sadia said he had died before being brought to the hospital.

Magura Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Ashikur Rahman said police visited the scene after being informed and initially suspected it to be an accident.

The body was later handed over to the family after completing legal procedures.
