3 held with Yaba pills in B’baria

Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers along with 67 pieces of Yaba pills in Brahmanbaria’s Akhaura upazila early Tuesday.

The arrested were identified as Md Parvez Mia, 26, of Haripur area under Moniyand union in Akhaura upazila; Md Rasel Mia, 28 and Mehedi Hasan, 20, of Gopinathpur Jogir Bari area under Kasba upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of policemen conducted a drive at a tin-shed house belonging to Parvez Mia in Haripur area around 1:45 AM, recovered the Yaba pills and arrested the trio from the spot.

Akhaura Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Jabed Ul Islam confirmed the recovery and said that a case was filed against the arrested individuals under the Narcotics Control Act.
